Volunteering
The East Lancashire Railway is dependent on its volunteer to operate our heritage rail services. There are currently 800 volunteers who give up their free time, either mid-week or weekends to work in a variety of departments (listed below). No matter your background or level of experience, the Railway can find a place for you.
Teamwork, pride and enthusiasm are the most vital attributes you can bring to any job here at the East Lancashire Railway. There are many Departments and you will find jobs that suit your interests:
In addition to the satisfaction gained from working in a heritage railway environment, you and your partner will receive free travel and the opportunity to enjoy staff discounts on a range of goods and services.
It must be noted that should you volunteer for any roles within the East Lancashire Railway family, you will be required to disclose to the recruitment team any unspent legal convictions that you currently hold. This is to enable your Society to maintain it's legal obligations under Safeguarding guidance.
For more information on becoming a working member, please contact the Volunteer Liaison Team on 07585 198455 or at volunteers@elrpsltd.org.uk.
