Carriage & Wagon Department

Carriage and Wagon Department

The Carriage & Wagon Department is mainly situated at Buckley Wells Shed but can found working in other locations. This department is responsible for the overhaul and maintenance of all coaches and freight vehicles in use at the ELR.

Work can vary from complete rebuilds, repaints, scheduled exams, routine maintenance and cleaning. There are so many tasks that can be done on rolling stock and this makes the role within the department varied and interesting.

No experience is necessary as full training will be given. Many of the roles are safety critical but many others aren't. Whatever your experience, we can always find something for our volunteers. The department provides the rolling stock to keep our intensive timetabled services going throughout the year.

For more information on becoming a working member, please contact the Volunteer Liaison Team on 07585 198455 or at volunteers@elrpsltd.org.uk.
